Who We Are
Upendo Care is a Christ centered family without any lucrative aim, ready to receive anyone without discrimination. Upendo Care started after 21 days of prayer and fasting seeking God’s face and direction. This prayer has brought a great revival within the group. Later, around 10 regular participants agreed to carry on praying together since some of them had made a decision to have a deeper relationship with Christ following the 21 days prayer and fasting. This family started on March 1st 2013, aiming to spread the gospel around the world through works of love and compassion and sharing the good news of Jesus-Christ. These activities were held via a prayer line conference calling accessible across many countries in the world gathering people from North America, Europe and Africa countries mainly. Upendo Care family was growing every day in an amazing way. The group decided to appoint Anitha Munezero as its leader, because of her gift of love and care for all people that God has assigned to her.
Our Mission
“to proclaim the name of Jesus-Christ by doing works of compassion and love, being one in Him, comforting each other, helping each other, sacrificing ourselves for others, and lifting the name of Jesus in our works in truth”
Our mission is illustrated in these verses:
– I Corinthians 13:1-8: “…(love) 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
-Philippians 2:1-5 quoted as this: “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfil my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”.
How We Work
God has expanded our Upendo Care FAMILY in an amazing way. We are a family made of people living in Africa, Europe and America with a mission to reach the rest of the world. We have established a manager in each country where we have participants to coordinate our activities. We do hospital visits providing food and praying for patients, visits to new mothers & babies, help those in financial need, attend people in difficulties, comforting people, showing compassion and encouraging people to believe in the joy that comes from knowing Christ.
Our rhema word is found in Matthew 25:35-40: 35
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” WELCOME IN THE UPENDO CARE FAMILY
